Kara Murry, Sheri Melamedorf, Clare Hollis, Chad Thompson, and John Arrona, all special education teachers at Ford Middle School, were recently recognized for their dedication in establishing a pull-out social skills club during FOCUS intervention sessions. Through thoughtful discussions, they address pertinent social scenarios, fostering crucial life skills among students.

 

Their commitment not only fulfills academic needs but also emphasizes the importance of interpersonal competencies essential for future success. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the district's educational vision, shaping a more comprehensive learning experience. Their efforts signify a dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals within the educational community.

 

AHS Law and Public Service Teachers Commit to Real-World Learning, Making Students Future ReadyAHS Law and Public Service Teachers Commit to Real-World Learning, Making Students Future Ready

 

Allen High School Law and Public Service teachers, Tiffany Nickles and Mariah Santiago, were recently recognized for their dedication to providing students with hands-on, real-world experiences to prepare them for the future. In addition to activities students do in the classroom, students gain practical knowledge by participating in ride-alongs with local law enforcement and fire departments, observing justice departments, and engaging in activities with the Allen Police Explorers Post 1511.

 

These student activities immerse them in the duties of police officers, teaching them essential skills and knowledge in law enforcement, firefighting, forensics, and more. Tiffany and Mariah's commitment extends beyond the classroom, as they guide students towards industry-based certifications and opportunities to contribute to campus security and police dispatch. On any given day, they display their dedication to student success, earning recognition for their exemplary efforts in cultivating Future Ready Skills.

Building Future-Ready Minds: STEAM Center PreK-8 Teaching Assistants ShineBuilding Future-Ready Minds: STEAM Center PreK-8 Teaching Assistants Shine

 

PreK-8 teaching assistants at the Allen ISD STEAM Center, Rachel Boswell, Rheaven Sandoval, and Pam Churchill, were recently recognized for their outstanding dedication to enhancing student learning experiences. Through innovative engineering design lessons and challenging coding activities, they are fostering creativity and skill development among students, preparing them for future college or career positions.

 

In addition to curriculum development, their outdoor lessons have transformed into hands-on experiences using various tools and techniques, enriching student knowledge and engagement. Their commitment to continuous improvement and future sustainability of lessons reflects their tireless efforts in nurturing Future Ready Skills among students.
